Wellvana Health Names New Executive Leadership
Three new executive announcements strengthen corporate team
NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wellvana Health announced the appointment of three new executives this week; Jay Meyers will serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sunil Cardozo as Chief Operations and Information Officer (COO/CIO), and Readus Smith as Chief Managed Care Officer, effective January 1, 2021. Interim Chief Executive Officer, Worthe S. Holt Jr, M.D., has transitioned to Wellvana’s Chief Medical Officer.

Jay Meyers comes to Wellvana with a background serving in a number of senior executive positions across the healthcare industry. Most recently Mr. Meyers served as the Chief Development and Marketing Officer for Anthem’s Diversified Business Group (DBG) where he oversaw growth and marketing across Anthem’s $5B diversified portfolio.

Prior to Wellvana, Sunil Cardozo served in many executive roles in the healthcare service and technology landscape. Most recently Sunil served as the Chief Information Officer at Innovista Health Solutions. There, he was responsible for the selection and implementation of key technological initiatives targeted to continually improve the operations and drive physician experience and performance.

Readus Smith joins Wellvana with over 30 years of experience as a healthcare executive and a passion for bringing quality healthcare and world-class service to underserved communities. As Chief Managed Care Officer, Readus’s responsibilities include oversight of new growth opportunities and positioning pivotal relationships in the managed care industry. His focus will be to drive higher expectations of patient care and expand them beyond industry standards.
